Partnered with the prestigious London Consortium, the Sydney Consortium is a unique collaboration between the Writing and Society Research Group at UWS, and important Sydney cultural institutions (through events we will stage with the Australian Museum, Museum of Contemporary Art, the State Library of NSW and the Sydney Writers’ Festival). We offer a challenging, rigorous coursework degree combining criticism and creativity and leading to an MA in Cultural and Creative Practice from the University of Western Sydney.
The MA mixes units related to aesthetic practice with the opportunity to work with some of Australia’s leading writers, editors and critics in developing creative or critical work. Teaching staff for 2012 will include Gail Jones, Ivor Indyk, Nick Jose, Hazel Smith and Anthony Uhlmann with guest lectures from Michael Taussig, Steven Connor, and Bruno Clément.
These pages are under construction and further details will be added in coming weeks related to the units on offer for 2012 and further information related to the course. Please register your interest and we will contact you as soon as these details are confirmed.
